Shy layer - just hides finished layers to clear workspace
(remember to enable at the top)
Control quality of layers - just to speed up previews when working on big projects
Motion Blur (remember to enable at top of timeline) - gives a pro real life feel to it

Effects - not only for behavioural changes, colour corrections, etc
Adjustment Layer - can apply effects to it and it will effect every layer beneath
Can fully play with this by adding effects to some and not others, i.e. desaturate all except one, blur all except one, self-adjusting coloured background.. His favourite effect = Bad Tv!
Creating a transparent window through the canvas to reveal an animation beneath.. --- either do on photoshop and import as project file or use 'Track Matte'
- draw a rectangle over window
- (might have to toggle switch mode)
- Then use TrkMat and use Alpha Inverted Matte
- Then you have your window to put animations within
Perfect for moving mockups!!
For the second half of the workshop we learnt how to make an animated composition which can then be nested into another composition as just an element which can then again be applied into another composition!
This is simply done by dragging and dropping each composition in from the left project bar and then re-scaling and applying it in as a separate layer!
Here is my silly experiment..
