After Effects Workshop 2

To introduce us to the next session, we simply had a quick brief recap before learning an essential tip for when adjusting an objects path. This involved animating a rocket to fly across the screen, using anchor points to curve the line..

But in order for the shape to directly flow with the curve of the line, rather than staying straight facing, we were taught to go to Layer>Transform>Auto-Orient>Orient Along Path... This will make the rocket nose in this case follow the line, making for a more accurate and realistic movement.

Another useful tip I learnt was how to use 'Toggle Hold Keyframe'. This holds the object at a certain point until its told otherwise. This is useful when you want to create a constant loop.

In this session we also learnt how to pin objects and in turn their set animations to follow one specific object. So in this example we experimented with making clouds move across the screen with rain an lightning coming out of each individual cloud. As you can see below this is done by setting the 'Parent' as the layer you want it to follow!

Again I finished the workshop project off with a nice incorporated gif!
