Interviewing Vapour?

After some serious re-arrangement after cancelled dates, we finally agreed on a date were I could stop by the studio.
I realised how they are a very busy design agency with endless projects running in and out simultaneously, even thought they are a little tight knit stronghold of 6 in-studio.

I provided them with some context of what I was to focus on in the interview. And I planned to record the content via audacity on my laptop - and then I can scribe up the interview from the audio file. They also agreed to provide me with some of the high-res project case study images which weren't on the website - exciting stuff!!

Before I started to revisit how I was to approach myself and the questions I was going to ask them - regarding the research I'd already done into their origins - I also began looking at all of their past project case studies in detail too. Here are some of my favourites:

The Alchemist -

Vapour proudly look after all aspects of design for the darkly weird and wonderful, super smart chain of cocktail bars and restaurants.

They’ve sculpted a standout brand that emanates a stylish blend of the dark arts and molecular mixology twisted up with sharp geometric symbolism.

They’ve been able to fully pour all aspects of their creativity into their work for the Alchemist producing all illustrations, brand collateral across print and digital, including a rather nice website!

With the Alchemist’s footprint quickly expanding across the country they’re absolutely thrilled to be part of such an adventurous and progressive, forward thinking brand.

 - more of a large-scale practical project, would love to get involved in something like this!

LWE -
LWE are synonymous with superbly organised, immaculately curated and just plan brilliant dance parties up and down the country

Vapour were commissioned to produce a new LWE site that fully represented the quality of the events on offer to all discerning music-heads!

- strong ties to the dance music industry and web/app design, relates to my focus and interests well!

Nike ACG -
Vapour were given an open brief from Nike ACG to create a hero catalogue and accompanying resource DVDn 6 languages for their 20th anniversary range of heritage focused all conditions gear.

Using the iconic ACG patterns as reference they set about creating a piece of work that gave a full visual journey through the Moab desert - and the full colourful aesthetic thats formed the backbone of the label’s revered style through the years.
I love the more experimental style they've been able to showcase here - through the various overlays and bold graphics.
