- From my recent placement at Matrix I actually gained a link from one of the freelancers there to Home Agency in Leeds, so it was interesting to properly follow up on this studio and see what they are all about.
To be honest, I wasn't overly excited by their work and ethos from the presentation - it is clearly more of an advertising agency and they definitely don't push motion design in their work so I can definitely summarise how it probably isn't the place for me to consider for after uni / for placements. But it is definitely a link to keep in mind for the future - so I was still eager to have a little chat with them after the talk during the quiz!
The first talk of the night from DixonBaxi was probably most intriguing and relevant to us as young creatives as their work was definitely more current and diverse - even making use of little motions here and there. In their talk they particularly focused on the work they did for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
They aimed to inspire and engage a younger audience through the injection of K-Pop with hyper neon colours and vibrancy through the brand. I really liked how they transferred a piece of Korean culture such as K-Pop into winter sports, and in turn achieved a new visual spin on the winter olympics which can often be quite basic and forgotten.
