LEVEL 04 Finals/Eval

Finals
17 / 03 / 16

Evaluation:

Overall I am very satisfied with how the PPP module has turned out. I feel like all my pieces of stationary on-screen and off appear very consistent and can be easily recognised back to myself, as a designer. The colour schemes effectively represent me, however did cause some problems with stock and printing. The quality does appear very professional as shown above but I do want to clean a couple of documents up before I begin communicating with design houses and putting my identity properly out into industry.
Most of these problems lie within the accuracy of double sided printing but can be fixed through layout modifications inside the documents. For example, my intro cards for DesignersWhoDj. are slightly off centre on the one side and it is quite noticable, and being a graphic designer whom is possibly interested editorial design cannot hand finalised cards to professional companies that are off centre! All kerning is pretty accurate and will require some slight changes in block test, I did not notice these until after printing so it isn't too obvious.
Something I do need to consider further is my specified colour on-screen #cc9c79 is slightly different to the stock I was able to find. I will carry out further research into bringing these colours closer together to allow easier matching with the printing stock. This issue is visible in the DWD 001 CD case, where the grey stock creates a new colour with the cream ink. However I can conclude that it remains consistent enough and recognisable enough for this module, but it is something I will adjust for my personal branding to ensure complete consistency in design.
The stamp process I carried out was very successful for my first attempt and lead to some very nice notebook designs. Through the process it did take me a while to get better with using the stamp, to achieve a more consistent and clean print. This did result in some dodgy notebooks which had to be got rid of, but it did result in me further considering the design of the notebooks resulting in a combination of colour schemes making them more individual and personal!
The CD sticker ended up being a very straight forward print once I had upped the resolution and used the digital print facilities. The glossy inkjet printer paper which I originally aimed to use did look quite tacky and provided problems with finding a suitable printer which worked! I am much more pleased with this final outcome than expected.
The social media platforms I created both appear very professional and link together nicely but discretely. I just need to start boosting their online identity and get some local people interested! I look forward to this project!

Overall, I really enjoyed creating my personal identity and it has lead to me created a very sufficient identity for myself which I really feel reflects myself. The DesignersWhoDj concept is providing me with some fantastic opportunities in both design and the music industry, so I can't wait to start exploiting these!!
