- Email Mockup of the Gif in action
Where the refreshment of my branding has essentially came from. The use of my greeting gif has had nothing but positive feedback, giving off a fun and quite cheeky persona which has given people a taste of my style and what I do, whilst providing a striking first impression to my actual personality too.
I can evaluate that it is very successful as people who I have started email conversations with and then gone onto met this year have always brought it up - serving as a solid conversation starter when meeting creatives and professionals. Could be something I consider doing for people or I just try and keep it exclusive for myself?!
My business card design has stemmed directly from my cards done for the VS Project. As I was unsure whether I should have my own personal business cards - or to just use the VS ones to promote the brand for after uni. But I decided it would be appropriate to slightly adapt the final design to my own personal branding - just for use at the final show and for when I meet people outside of the VS project as it would be nice to have my own card to give out. The card directs them to my website anyway, which has a whole section dedicated to the VS Project on the menu bar, so they won't miss it and it definitely won't stay out of conversations anyway!
I began exploring various layouts for the business cards, prioritising the flow of the content and how it fits to the page. I particularly wanted to lock the various information in the corners so people would have to be interactive and physically turn the card to retrieve pieces of information. Prioritising the importance of each bit of info within the movement.
Feedback from a course-mate helped me evaluate how the main ports of contact should be prioritised beneath my name and title - for ease of use and clarity for the viewer.
Then my website and social handle can be what sits vertically being the visual links to support my work.
This then allows for the logo to sit top left - being the first thing you view - allowing the viewer to more systematically access each bit of content around the business card.
Adapted this final VS Project layout into my own personal business cards, applying my feature colours to compliment the hard-hitting black and white - with the famous wave on the other side for consistency and recognisability across platforms and stationary.
I then had to ensure I was keeping this style consistent within my Design Invoice too..
- Making sure I was allowing a clear flow of information, separating my personal details and address from the clients. Then the clear table beneath indicating the rates and total payment.
You can see how well they work together beneath.
I decided to better represent myself as a motion designer a little intro video for my logo would be necessary. This can then fit onto my socials directing them to my site and maybe even feature on the website somewhere perhaps.
I started by separating out the various layers of my logo - considering how I would animate in each letterform to then make up the final symbol.
With simple mask reveals on After Effects and some nicely timed SFX I was able to create a sleek Intro Vid which introduces me as a motion designer and briefly what I can do, and also promote my new website
